Aidan had to try very hard tohide his smile--Felix was being treated like a kid, something Felix had not really been through before. So of course Felix looked extremely irratated, but he was restraining himself. He knew better than to lash out at Tren.
Desiree and Echidna left, but came back with want Tren wanted. Aidan left for the kitchen. Francine just grinned, the looked to Mirage's arm.
"Whoops, sorry Mirage! We need to get that bullet out of your arm right away."
Mirage blinked, then looked to her arm. "Oh yeah, that's right..." She had been too preoccipied to feel her own injuires. Francine sat Mirage down and got to work on her.
Felix thought for a moment. "I'm not sure why--but these thugs burst into our apartment and started to drag Aidan away. So of course I fought to get him back, but didn't suceed. Instead they beat me down, and dragged me away, too. When I woke up, I was in an alley. In a territory that I shouldn't have been in--the Dagger territory. (Tren would remember them, because during a rp group they landed in that same area.) So of course I was discovered, and having no weapons, wa beat down again. Then they tossed me out. That's my story."

Core followed Aidan into the kitchen and Tren started ripping bandages, while listening to Felix.
He grew thoughtful at the end and glanced at him. "I've heard of the Dagger territory. I've been there before. Hmm...I must say I'm sorry you got that end of things. As for our story I think Mirage could explain it better than I, because, like you, I'm a victim in all of this as well."

Though Mirage was weary and sore from her bruises and from having Francine get the bullet out of her arm and wrapped up, she was able to tell the story while shifting an ice pack from one part of her face to another. She had made herself comfortable on the floor next to Francine.
Aidan came back with Core, leading a large serving tray that floated above the ground that was full of assorted drinks and food for everyone. Letting it hover in the middle, Aidan left it there as Francine quickly reached up and got a hold of her precious french fries. Felix took to slowly munching on a roll, listening to Mirage carefully.
Desiree sat on the floor with Echidna and Aidan after getting herself a juice box, leaving the spot to her right open for Core to sit next to her if he so wished.
Breeze, who had been standing to the side quietly the whole time, jumped up onto the arm of the couch and settled down there, watching...

Core did take the place next to Desiree, grabbing his own food.
Tren also took his food, which was the biggest amount, and relaxed next to Mirage and Francine.
It was nice and comfortable to be able to sit there and relax a bit after such a long days work!

When Mirage finished, Desiree told of how she settled things out with the President, and how she and Mirage would have to write out a report. In return, Mirage told Desiree that she would have to finish a test in order to leave the planet and finish her schooling. This made Desiree sigh.
"Oh, that test...it's a hard one..."
"Sure is," Mirage said, bringing and hand up to cover a yawn, her eye lids beginning to droop. "While you are doing that, I'll write the report and send it off."
Aidan had been quiet for the whole discussion, and hadn't grabbed anything to eat yet.
"What about...us, Mirage? Felix and I are still in danger here, no matter where we run to on this planet. And you wouldn't just leave your best friend behind, would you?" Aidan asked, reffering to Francine.
Echidna put an arm around Aidan's shoulders, trying to reassure him. It had been hard to be seperated in the first place, for while Desiree, Aidan, Jia Li, Felix, and Echidna had lived together as the Neutrals, they had been a family.
Mirage forced her eyes open to look at Aidan. "Of course I'm not going to leave Francine behind. But you and Felix...it's true what you say. I'm not sure what to do about it, though."

Core was also quiet. It was true that Felix and Aidan couldn't stay here, but was to be done? Where were they to go that was safe?
Tren sipped some Apple Cider, thoughtful, though not troubled in the slightest. He glanced at Mirage and Francine, and then at his kids and their friends. They were making a big deal out of nothing.
"It's really quite simple." He studied Felix, and then Aidan and smiled in a fatherly manner. "Because I'm such a nice guy, you two can come and stay with my family. We have extra rooms in the basement and it wouldn't be hard for you to fit right in, after all, all my kids are misfits."
He took another sip of his Cider, while pondering something else. "I'm making an extra wing to the back of house and that can be your separate home when it's finished, until we come up with something better. You already know Desiree and Echidna, and have met Core, so it won't take much to get to know the rest of our household, besides, I know you'll love my son Mar."
He stretched his arms and set his empty cup down, looking relaxed and trouble free. "Of course, I'll have to ask my wife about it, but I'm sure she'll be more then happy to let you in. She'll set the rules for you as well. So, what do you guys say?"
Core's mouth was hanging open. Tren was so carefree about all of this, as if he had planned this all along. He was so caring, he was willing to take in kids he didn't know into his home as if they were his own children, no matter the cost it might cause him.
This man was truly amazing.

Felix wasn't too sure what to think about it. He didn't know what to think about Tren, either. They hadn't exactly clicked.
Aidan, on the other hand, was almost beyond the over-joyed line.
"Really? You would do that for us? I agree! What about you, Felix?" Felix studied Tren, not knowing. Then he made the mistake of looking over to his close friend, Aidan, and sighed.
"If you eat."
Aidan was only too happy to do just that.
----
A little while passed, and Desiree stood up and stretched her arms. "Well, I better get started! And Mirage, you can start the repo--" Desiree trailed off as her gaze settled on Mirage, who had finally fallen asleep, half in Tren's lap and half on the floor. "...or I could do both, yeah. Wish me luck guys!" Aidan, Echidna, and Felix voiced their good lucks, knowing exactly what Desiree was about to go through. Desiree went into another room, where she would order the test--regrettfully one you had to write by hand--and finish in 'peace'.
Francine waved to Desiree, and then smiled at Mirage. She looked so peaceful, the stress and worry that had haunted her face for years finally gone. Francine wondered what it was like to have such a heavy weight finally vanquished. Plus, it was just plain cute to see that Mirage had unknowningly lain herself halfway on Tren's lap. She felt a slight pain of regret--Mirage probably missed Justyn a lot more than she showed. But either way, she was living on, and finally choosing the right path.

Tren laughed softly at the excitement of Aidan, but didn't say anything about Felix. If he wasn't sure about it, Tren couldn't blame him. Although his family didn't bit often, there was that rare occasion.
He glanced down at Mirage and pushed back the urge to stroke her hair in a fatherly way, and instead he waved as Desiree left the room, trying to fight back a yawn from his own long day. He didn't feel right about Desiree doing this test so late at night, but if it was the only way, then he would have to deal with it.
She could sleep in tomorrow anyway.
Core watched Desiree leave with curiosity. What was this test about? And how hard was it really? He waited until he could no longer see her and then stretched himself on the floor and stared up at the ceiling, his arms placed comfortably under his head.
"Hey, I think I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up when she's done."
Tren shook his head. "Nope. You go ahead and sleep. I'll let Saiyomi know what's going on, and we'll go home tomorrow after we've taken care of everything."
Core nodded, closed his eyes and let his drift into Dream-state.
Tren glanced toward the others. "We should all do the same."

Felix wasn't about to go to sleep. He was still inerly hyped from being kidnapped and everything else that had happened.
Aidan took off his hat and scratched his red hair in a sleepy manner, plopped it back down on his head, and then laid on his back on the floor. He closed his eyes, but he was so excited!
Francine stood up while stretching her arms, then looked to the stubborn Felix. She sighed, but smiled all the same. "Hey, Felix. If you don't want to sleep, move from the couch so some one else can." Felix rolled his eyes, but got up from the couch anyways. Francine plopped on it and yawned. It wasn't long before she, too, were gone in the land of dreams.
Echidna couldn't will herself to sleep, though. "I'm not tired enough, father."
Felix blinked. "Why are you and Desiree calling him 'dad' and 'father'? What have I missed? And why the heck does he have a tail? Is he an off-worlder or what?" Felix directed these questions to Echidna instead of Tren. Echidna put a finger up to her lips, a motion that told Felix to lower his voice for the ones who were sleeping.
"All will be explained. but for now, rest." Echidna said queitly. Felix growled inwardly at the motherly tone Echidna was using on him. It just irratated him to no end. But he knew she couldn't help it--Echidna had looked out for him and the others for so long.
"...I'll be in the kitchen." Felix turned on his heel and went in the general direction of the kitchen. Echidna came to sit on the other side of Tren. She was thoughtful, then looked to him.
"Remember Jia Li? She use to be a part of our group."

Tren watched Felix with a serious expression. He understood how the boy kid might be a bit lost, but he just wasn't up to giving memories, so Felix would have to wait.
He turned his gaze on Echidna after Felix walked out and smiled. "Yeah, I remember her. She and I had an interesting talk one time." He studied his daughter for a moment. "Why? Do you want her to come along...or do you even know where she is?"
He wrapped his arm about her shoulder, prepared to listen, his tail swishing in a relaxed way. He had actually been thinking about Jia Li for sometime now. He had a good feeling about her.

"Well...it seems she has since disapeared. That is why Felix acts as he does--he has always cared about her more than he was ever able to show." Echidna leanded her head on Tren's shoulder, looking over to where Core and Aidan peacefully lay. "I'm not sure what happened to her...but it is tearing Felix down."
There was silence, in which the fast scribbling of pencil could be heard from the other room.
"There is something about her that is, well...good. I'm not sure how to explain it. But you have felt it, Tren. She needs to be found...but where to start?"

Tren listened patiently, but he felt something tear at him after he heard that she was missing. He had always like her as his own kid, even for the few moments he had known her. It bothered him that kids would go missing..kids that were good, wholesome children, and you would never know what could have happened to them in this city.
He sent a glanced toward the room where Desiree worked and sighed softly. "Do we have anything to go off of?" He paused, pondering. "Please tell me Adder had nothing to do with it, 'cause if he did, I'll pound his face in."
He turned his gaze back to Echidna, watching her red eyes closely. "We're not going home until she's safe, so we might as well start now. Unless you think otherwise, I think you and I should go find her. Everyone else is asleep, and Desiree will be so tired by the end of teh test, she might as well be asleep as well. What do you think?"

Echidna smiled. That was exactly what she had hoped for Tren to say. She got up and nodded.
"I agree that it should be just us. I do not believe Adder has her...but the odds are somebody does. Her power is odd to this world." Echidna paused, just realizing who that certain somebody would be. "Tren...the Dagger Flick. Remember the time the void dropped us there? And eventually Jia Li came to the rescue. They don't like her power--it always stops them from their wrong doing. See where I am getting at?"

Tren nodded with a smile, understanding perfectly where she was coming from. He didn't like that gang at all, so it was about time he gave 'em some payback.
"Well, let's go then. The longer we wait here, the less butts we kick," He grinned and gave her the thumbs-up sign.
Even his tail flicked with excitement.
He pulled from his jacket pocket a piece of paper, and quickly wrote a note, in case anyone noticed it before they returned, telling them that Echidna and him couldn't sleep so they had gone for a walk and would be back soon.
"Okay, ready when you are."

Echidna glanced at the note and almost laughed. His words were convincing, even on paper. She linked arms with Tren, determination in her eyes.
"I have the feeling Jestin is behind all of this. You'll recognize him when you see him. i suggest we pop right into their home and deliver our...surprise."
