The duke couldn't have been more relieved to see a familiar face! Now that he wasn't pinned down, he jumped up with a slight wince and barreled his fist into the face of the nearest guard. His clothes were slightly tattered where he had been cut, and a matter of other many things, but he still was able to move freely. Another guard went down by his fist, at which point Jounery was able to answer Austiru.
"I'll be fine once this is over." Journey stepped to the side as two fighting figures rushed right by him. "This is insane," he whispered, stepping closer to Austiru but staying on guard. "Austiru, your father is looking for you. I saw him over there," he gestured over to a group of fighting men, then was suddenly pushed to the ground by a royal guard who had recovered from the punch quite rapidly. Journey avoided the sharp end of the guard's spear, grabbing it near the end and tugging as hard as he could in the same motion was he was hauled to his feet. The guard tumbled to the ground, Journey now having the spear in hand. He let it hover just inches before the man's right eye. The guard breathed heavily, stiffening.
"Austiru, get going." Journey said gently.
----
Austiru and Journey weren't the only ones having a problem. Almost instantly Angie and Ila were grabbed, with claims that they could use the princess as hostage, and out of spite, take the Bastet as a slave. How ironic the situation was!
"No, listen! Please," Angie said, squirming against the grip. Her ice-ball-light-thing had crashed to the floor and broken, and darkness prevailed. She felt a heavy hand cuff the side of her head, instantly sending her into a world of dizziness. Then she felt herself being picked up, felt bodies pressing around her as the slaves rushed up the stairs and into freedom. Light hit her eyes as they surged into the large room that had led down to the big cellar, the Dioshni filtering out. But an angry voice echod loudly throughout the room.
"Stop it, NOW!"
There was a complete and utter silence. Angie fought through the haze and looked before here. There stood Ruja, eyes seeming to dance in anger. Her arms folded stiffly.
"Release them." Instantly Angie was gently put on her feet, and Ila beside her. She looked hassled, but uninjured. Unlike Angie, Ila had kept her mouth shut. But now Angie focused on Ruja, and felt a slight bit of anger replace the fear she had had.
"What are you doing here? You always complain about saving me." She recalled what Nif had said, about needing to be saved all the time. "I cold have gotten things under control." Her voice wavered slightly, but it remained strong. Yes, she could have. Ruja's gaze lightened as she met her eyes with Angie's. She didn't have any negative thought that Angie would have eventually blown the mind's of the slaves with a good chill from her ice magic.
"Angie. Consider this a helping hand...from a friend."
---
Ilu brushed out to the courtyard, all grins. Everything was going just right. He tugged along Rose, who didn't have a choice but to follow, weakened by blood loss and sorrow. He skirted along the outskirts of the battle--the battle that would prove that those who were loyal to him would win. And with the survivors, he would rise to the surface and confront the battle there.

Austiru took down another man, and looked to see if he could see his father. He got a glimpse of him, but couldn't get away in time. He felt a fist collide with his gut and he began to cough. He looked up as a man was bringing down his blade, but Austiru was too quick. He moved and his knee moved up and into the man's face. As the man fell, he nodded his thanks to Journey. "I'll see you later. Don't die!" He waved goodbye and ran off to find his father.
____
Austin was having too much fun. He had been waiting for this for a long time, and though it was a big burst at once, he couldn't deny that he was enjoying himself a great deal.
His blade clashed with many others, though they never prevailed. He was a great hunter of whales and he was one of the best in the kingdom. Many knew his strength and so many avoided him in a fight. Some, unfortunately, were not so wise.
"Father!"
He glanced about, and saw his son running toward him. "It's about time Austiru." He smiled.
Austiru stopped next to him. "Dad, we need to talk..."
_____
Rage's tail flicked as he guarded the door to the room Ruja was in. He was rather bored. He had already taken care of the posted guards, which were laying about the floor, and had nothing left to do. He was a little shocked when he heard Ruja yell, but he did not intrude. She could handle it.
"Man...this had better get exciting..."

Angie's gaze flickered over to Rage. Of course...where there was Ruja, there was Rage. She looked back to Ruja, and nodded. Ruja gave a faint smile, unfolding her arms and addressing the Dioshni, who were stunned that a Bastet had commanded them. A Bastet!
"Alright, listen up." Ruja said, pacing slowly and importantly before the Dioshni, eying them up for size and strength. All looked like they could kill her in a blink of an eye, which made Ruja curious as to how Ilu had gotten them here in the first place, and under control. "Yes, I know that you are angry and upset--"
"Why should we listen to you? You are nothing but a Bastet!" A feirce woman spat out, who was near Ruja and glaring daggers. Ruja returned the stare equally, and came to stand but and inch from her, face-to-face.
"That I am. And to me, your kind is nothing but a bunch of slave-drivers of my race. And I will never forgive any of you. But right now, it's time to set that aside. That's in the past, thanks to the New Council. However...if you continue this buried dispute, we'll have to settle it. Here, and now. So. You either listen to me, or not." Ruja's voice was down-right dark and rather persuasive. The woman continued her glare, but then took a step back and lowered her gaze.
"Yes, Yami." At the sound of her name, the other Dioshni stared. Angie was about to question what that was all about, but Ruja twirled on her heel and headed for the door.
"You all want to stand up against Ilu, I take it. Then we ought to get going. Follow or stay, that's your choice." Ruja said, passing by Rage and continuing down the hall. Angie, without really meaning to...got a memory from Ruja. One that rooted her to the spot as the Dioshni gently brushed past her. Ila started walking, but paused and looked back to Angie.
"Angie? What is it?"
-----
Ilu threw Rose to the ground, where she stayed, having not the strength to rise. Ilu swept his gaze around the battle, being out of the way and at a good point of observation. His eyes narrowed as he spotted Journey, then Austiru and Austin. But where was Angie? And Ila? Hmph! The spear he gripped in his hand shifted upwards as he took aim, in the direction of Journey. There was a few seconds pause, where the shaft of the spear glowed faintly. Then Ilu hurled it up into the air, where it rapidly descended down upon the unsuspecting Journey.

Rage watched Ruja, his eyebrow cocked. He would have to ask her later about her mood. His gaze narrowed as the slaves went by, giving them a warning look if they tried anything.
As he began to walk after them, he suddenly paused. For some reason, the scenery had just changed. Instead of being inside the Aquatris palace, he was standing in the courtyard. In front of him was King Ilu, and on the ground, in serious condition was Rose. He felt anger flood his mind as he watched Ilu point his glowing spear toward Journey, the duke of the humans. He threw it. Rage watched it fly and then looked at Rose.
Suddenly he was back in the palace. He blinked, unsure of what had happened. Then it hit him. He had been seeing a memory before it happened. Which meant that he could do something about it.
He didn't even bother with telling Ruja, instead he disappeared.
He appeared in front of Journey and smiled as the spear came within an inch of his heart. Quickly, he grabbed it, stopping it instantly. He didn't know if anyone had seen it and he didn't care. His gaze was fixed on Ilu and Rose beside him. He tossed the spear to the ground and slowly walked toward the false king, his endless black eyes full of anger. Ilu could whatever he wanted to these people, but when it came to Rose, it was crossing the line.
(Sorry, I justed posted on Rage for now)

Journey, who had been occupied with a rather tricky spar between a strong Aquatris woman (being that he didn't want to hurt her) when he finally decided to just knock her out. Upon turning, his eyes widened as the light glinted off an object heading straight for him, and about a second away. In that second appeared Rage, stopping it. Journey was able to get over his shock, and nod his respect. The Rage tossed the spear aside and headed toward where suddenly King Ilu was, and a severely injured woman. It was hard to think that he would have just died, had it not been for the appearance of that man. Journey's thoughts slid away as another challenger came forth.
Ruja did not question Rage's disappearance--rather, she knew where he was going. For she felt it...Rose was in bad shape, possibly very deadly. But she had to stay here, had to complete the job she had failed to achieve so long ago. As they reached the doors that lead out to the courtyard, she turned to face her 'army',noting that Angie and Ila were not there with them. Hmm.
"Listen up. Outside, you are neither on King Ilu's side, or the other. You are neutral. Focus on stopping them both. Knock them out, pin them down--even though your numbers are far less, the abilities that come with your race make you equal. No killing, unless drastic measures need to be taken place. Do not focus on Ilu--he is already being taken care of."
Ruja stepped aside, and the fifty-or-so group of Dioshni men and woman streamed out of the doors, darting out onto the courtyard grounds to fulfill Ruja's order. Ruja sighed, running a hand through her hair. She hadn't had to use that ability in so long...sighing softly again, she headed back to where she knew Ila and Angie were.
---
Ilu's eyes darkened as someone intercepted his spear, which would have succeeded in killing the duke. His hands formed into tight fists. He didn't like it when he didn't get what he wanted....not at all...
Rose, feeling Rage's presence, turned her head over to the approaching figure, a brief smile striking her lips.
"Rage," she whispered. A whisper that seemed so faint, so lost, that it was almost heart-breaking,

Austin dodged, hitting the man mercilessly on the head. "Well, then, now that you've told me the situation, get back to your girlfriend. She may need your help and you're just standing there."
Austiru blushed, but he knew his dad was right. "Kay, I'll see you!" With that Austiru headed toward the palace again to find Angie.
____
Rage watch the man darkly as he drew closer, his left hand resting on the hilt of his sword. As he approached, his eyes fell to Rose and he felt his heart torn. Her expression was helpless to him and made his feel all the more angry, but he had sworn not to kill this man, that was for other people...one's that had more right.
He stopped, only a few feet away, his eyes narrowed and dangerous. "I'm giving you a head start for your life. Give me Rose without trouble, and I might spare your worthless life."

"Ha!" Ilu barked, insanity dancing in his eyes. "Can't you see? I'm on the brink of succeeding!" He gestured around the battlefield, then paused. His slaves were running out! They were quick to act, stopping the fights without killing and with minor injuries to most of the Aquatris. They were....fast. Within the mintue, already there was a large percent of the quarrels stopped. He was stunned. Then anger lit the insanity in his eyes even more. His gaze snapped back to Rage.
"No, she'll die first!" Ilu stepped down on Rose's ribcage, pressing down hard until there was an audible crack. He was beyond control at this point...!
Ruja faced Angie as Ila stepped out beyond the door at the request of privacy. Angie shook her head in disbelief.
"Why, Ruja? Why didn't you tell me?"
"Tell you what?" Ruja asked, sincerely not knowing what this was about. Angie stared at Ruja, still unable to actually grasp it.
"You were a Sunrise Angel. You were the soul survivor of the third generation wipe-out! You were the one, the General who led the uprising. You've been alive, all this time..." Angie's voice faded. There was more, much, much more. Ruja stared at her, shocked.
"How did you know..." Ruja said faintly.
"I suddenly got the memory as I watched you lead the Dioshni out. Plus, I've been brushing up on my history."
There was silence. There was more to it. Much more.
Ila paced, nervous. What was going on outside? And between Ruja and Angie? Was Rose okay? Did Austiru make it? It was almost too much to bear. Then she heard running footsteps, and turned to face Austiru. She met him happily.
"Austiru! I'm glad you are okay!"

Austiru hugged Ila and then turned to the others. "Sorry I ran off like that. I came to see if you were alright." He looked at Ruja and nodded. "I also have a very bad feeling. We need to find Ilu. I have seen no sign of him and I'm afraid of what he'll do."
____
Rage's eyes flashed with shock and fury. They flickered with a red flame, one of pure hatred and his own insanity. The only thing that stayed his hand from cutting him down then and there, was that he knew it was not his place, even with what he had done to Rose.
But it didn't hold him back very much.
He unsheathed his blade and, with a speed that put lightning to shame, he suddenly had his blade through the man's arm. But Ilu was no longer near Rose, instead he was pinned against the walls of the castle outside. Rage stared at him, his eyes aflame without mercy.
"The only reason that you are not in pieces right now is that the honor belongs to someone else, who has been waiting longer and with more pain than I. I will leave you to him, though it is everything I have not to kill you like the worthless thing you are, even in front of Rose."
He pulled forth another sword and stuck into his other arm. "Stay Ilu, or you will know why my name is Rage."His voice was full of a frightening echo, telling Ilu that he meant what he said. He stepped back and walked back to Rose. He knelt beside her, brushing her hair from her face. Gently he lifted her up and did not spare another glance in Ilu's direction as he lead Rose away from the battlefield. No one went near him, as though they could sense his deadly inner fire.

Ruja looked out the doorway rather absently. She tried to focus, and nodded.
"Right." Her gaze flickered back to Angie. "We...shall discuss this later. Let's go." Her voice was soft, unlike anything Angie had ever heard of. Angie replied with a nod, and followed the others on their search for Ilu.
Ilu grunted and gritted his teeth at the pain, everything happening in such a blur! But he didn't make the effort to get free--even if there was the slightest possibility of doing so.
Rose sighed softly, feeling very limp and very detached. She closed her eyes, knowing she was very safe with Rage, and that everything would be alright. "He killed her, Rage. He killed Tlel." Her mind was swirling with the pain and agony and sorrow, and didn't know that Rage probably did not know who Tlel even was. But it felt important to her that Rage ought to know. "She was important to me, Rage. She was my only birth child."

Rage stopped, his anger dissolving away to nothing. He looked down at her, suddenly feeling her grief and the memory of what she had seen, while all at once seeing how Tlel had come to be. He breathed a soft breath as he studied this mother figure. She had always been good at what she did, but never had he thought of her with her own child. He had always thought that she had taken Ruja because she had no children.
"Rose..." He couldn't find anything else to say. It wasn't the pain of a real wound that put her in this state, but the pain of a wound of one unseen. The pain of losing a loved one.
He felt anger once more. Ilu was a monster. Rage turned his cold gaze toward him once more, saying a silent curse that the Aquatris man would get what he deserved, even if it meant he had to send him to Hell himself. He would see to that.
He gently pulled Rose against his chest, telling her to let it out. It was better let out, then to let the grief remain. "It's okay..."

Rose did cry, sorrowful little rivers that looked like they would never stop. They were silent.
"No, it's not. I never told her that, that--" Rose lost her voice, her head coming to rest against Rage's chest.
Ruja was suddenly there, kneeling at Rage's side, eyes cast in worry. Then she noticed Rage's odd expression.
"What is it? What did she say?"
Angie gazed at Ilu, feeling Ila step up to her side. They stood before the pinned Ilu, who glared at them with those insane eyes, breathing rapidly...

Rage merely held her, his expression a mixture of anger and grief. He barely moved when Ruja knelt beside him. "Ruja...Rose had a birth..child..." That's all he could manage. He was still in shock.
____
Austiru stepped out next to Ila and froze. He stared at Ilu, and felt small under his gaze. He pulled his gaze away and looked toward Rose, Ruja and Rage. He merely stood there. He didn't know what else to do. He suddenly felt helpless. Rose was seriously hurt, King Ilu was pinned to the wall and he had nothing to say to help with the moment.
He looked at Angie and Ila, awaiting whatever was supposed to come next.

Ruja slowly stood, her face blank. Slowly she walked over to where Ilu was pinned, drawing out her black sword. "Ila, Angie, Austiru. Move back, and look away if you so wish," The had-been-battlefield was quiet now, the fighting well under control, thanks in large part to the Dioshni. Angie and Ila stepped back. Ruja brought up her sword, the tip coming to touch Ilu's throat. "I knew this day would come. Your father, and his father before you...you are all the same." Angie and Ila both looked away as Ruja made to slit the man's throat. There was a slight gurgling sound...then Ilu hung limp. Journey walked over to stand near Ila, and put a hand on her shoulder. She understood the gesture--she and her mother were now the new rulers of the Aquatris Kingdom. ----- ( Sorry, moving along a bit x3! ) Both the Dioshni and the Aquatris gained a new respect for each other and the Bastet kind that day. The Dioshni were returned home--they did look a bit peekish, being use to the sun and the dry air. Dead bodies were removed, proper memorial traditions took place. The courtyard was cleaned, disputes with Ilu's supporters settled. "Be careful, Rose." Meruu said softly a few minutes after taking great care to heal the Aquatris. The Aquatris healer, Mrii, had helped as well. Mrii was just as tall as Meruu, with very long blue hair that was braided nicely down her back. Rose slowly got to her feet, using Rage's shoulder as support. She felt better now...physically. Ruja offered her arm, and Rose accepted it. "I want to see her." Rose said, nodding softly to Rage in invitation. They both deserved to see the person she had kept hidden under the protection of secret for so long. Mrii and Meruu looked at each other, sharing a secret smile that did not show on their features. Mrii bowed respectfully to the trio, then lead them into the palace. Rose would receive a happy surprise. Angie sat on the grass not too far away, looking rather relaxed as she set her head on Austiru's shoulder. Meruu smiled softly, but not for long. Ruja had given her a look that had awakened the worry that Meruu had felt a while ago. Angie had brushed the surface of Ruja's secret. Meruu knew it was now too late, there was no way they could keep it from the villains now. But Angie seemed just fine now...how was she really reacting? Journey stood off to himself, arms crossed in thought. A lot had happened this day...and now, Queen Kenda of the Aquatris was returning home to regain her proper place. Journey closed his eyes then. He would have been dead if not for that young man, Rage. But somehow, he knew that Rage was not of this world... A soft, almost haunting song drifted across the humbly quite courtyard, the voice unknown. But Austiru and Angie would recognize the song instantly. "Deep down under the sea, The water is full of treasure, And precious things to me, That fill my life with pleasure.
The sand is full of gold; The waters shine with gems, But more then anything I hold, I seek a precious thing of them.
From the deep blue sea, I seek a precious pearl, One that shines and gleams, so it's worthy of my girl.
She is a precious pearl to me, So I want the best for her. No gem or jewel is good enough, Unless it shines like her.
Please help me find my pearl, One that fits a golden crown, I need it right away, So I don't let her down.
From the deep blue sea, I seek a precious pearl, One that shows I love her, And am worthy of my girl.
My little precious pearl." [/i]

Austiru stepped back, but did not look away. He watched this man die, feeling a sense of relief, but also a feeling of sadness. Ilu drew his last breath and Austiru bowed his head slightly. He felt a single tear escape down his cheek. He hadn't wanted anyone to one die from this, but he knew it had been best.
Rage watched in silence at the Aquatris boy, silently amazing that, even after all that Ilu had done to him, Austiru had still cried for such a monster, which was something to be respected.
_____
Rage helped Rose to her feet, feeling grief for her. At her invitation, he left with her. Having not received the memories yet, he was greatly surprised at what he saw.
Austiru sat silently next to Angie, his gaze lowered to the ground, deep in thought. A lot had happened and he was still getting over most of it.
So many times, he had wanted to kill Ilu for what he had done, yet as he had watched him die, he realized that he wouldn't have been able too. He didn't have the heart to kill another living being, no matter what they had done. Now the deed was done, but Austiru still had loneliness in his heart. The man who had caused his pain was gone, but that didn't stop the pain of his mother's madness.
He sighed deeply, but then perked up as he heard a familiar sound, a song that meant more to him then people knew. He looked about and glanced at Angie. "Do you hear that too?"

Mrii led them to a softly lit room, where Tlel laid on a bed. She was bandaged around her ribs, forehead, around her left shoulder, and her arms and legs. She smiled as her and Rose's eyes met. Rose hurried to the bedside, forgetting about her own injuries. Ruja couldn't help but smile as she stood next to Rage. Rose embraced Tlel as gently as she could, tears streaming down her face, murmuring soft words.
Mrii stood off to the side, a small smile on her lips. She nodded to Ruja and Rage, making her way for the door. Ruja's frayed ears twitched, snapping her gaze to Mrii as the Aquatris Healer made her way for the door. "Wait! Who are you?" Mrii paused, and gracefully looked over her shoulder to the Bastet Kit. Ruja lowered her voice so that Rose and Tlel would not be disturbed. "What kind of Healer can return a life that was already lost?" Mrii smiled a smile that was rather enticing and mysterious.
"A really good one."
And with that, Mrii departed out the door.
---
Angie sat up straighter, ears perking forward.
"Yes, I do!" Angie slowly stood, the air around them seeming to...lighten? It seemed more magical, somehow. The people still out in the courtyard froze, as if by magic. No ice or anything...
"She is a precious pearl to me, So I want the best for her. No gem or jewel is good enough, Unless it shines like her."
The voice was louder now, and Angie turned to see an Aquatris woman with very long hair standing behind them. Hadn't Meruu said that was Mrii?
"A beautiful song I must say, Austiru." Mrii's voice was so pleasant, so soft that Angie wanted to hear her continue talking...which was odd.
"Who are you...?"
Mrii smiled prettily, lowering her head slightly in greeting.
"I am Mriita-Selo, Goddess of the Aquatris."
( Here is some basic information to help this make sense:
Mriita-Selo: Goddess of the Aquatris Cristal-Sky ("Sky" transformed into Skyfire in the Hona culture): Goddess of the Honas
There are two other goddess, which we haven't met yet, so I won't tell you their names, but one is the goddess of the humans and the other the goddess of the Bastet Kits. The Dioshni, Shaydo, and Elves have gods. [Would that be okay for the elves? If not, let me know!]
There is a rumor, one buried so deep in history that even Gwinna, the History Keeper of Liberta, doesn't even know about. There are certain songs that could attract the attention of the Gods and Goddesses, enough so that they would come 'down' to Liberta. Mriita-Selo was touched by Austiru's song, and came in disguise as Mrii the Aquatris Healer.
One you post again, something fun will happen...^__^!
Oh yes. Ruja was faintly able to see through Mrii's disguise because she has met Mrii before...about, oh, two generations back, haha!)
